YARMOUTH — Alan Peter Phillips, 82, died at his home Feb. 3.
Born in Kent, England, on Nov. 12, 1928, he was the youngest son of Constance and Ernest Phillips and served in the Royal Navy.
In 1952 he immigrated to Cornwall, Ontario, with his wife June (Huxford), brother Frank and some close friends.
Two years later he and his wife made their home in Maine.
He worked as a mechanical engineer for several companies over the years, including Fairchild, Southworth, and JW Penney & Sons, until he retired at age 62.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed woodworking in his younger years and spending time at the family camp on Thomas Pond.
He sang tenor with the Downeasters Chorus and was a member of The Sandpipers Barbershop Quartet, and earned several awards.
His wife, June predeceased him as well as his brother, Frank Phillips.
Surviving are his three children, Karen Meucci and her husband Thomas of New York, Christopher Phillips and his wife Sarah of England, Beverley Pape and her husband David of Indiana; seven grandchildren, Sarah, A. Gregory, Jessica, Steven, Karissa, Andrew, and April.
Per his wishes there will be no funeral services.
