Author Julie Fisher will talk about her new book, “Importing Democracy: The Role of NGOs in South Africa, Tajikistan and Argentina.” The writing focuses on nonprofit organizations that promote democracy, combining democratic ideas with a country’s traditions. The book details Fisher’s more than 100 interviews with the leaders of these organizations.
