BRUNSWICK — A man and woman were stabbed Wednesday night during an altercation that Brunswick police said took place at the intersection of Cushing and Dunning streets.

Lt. Todd Ridlon would not identify the victims, a 37-year-old Sabattus man and a 34-year-old Brunswick woman. The man suffered a laceration to his upper arm and the woman had a swollen eye. Both victims were treated at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Their assailant or assailants remain at large, but Ridlon said investigators found “significant evidence” at the scene of the incident.

Police are still investigating why the man and woman were attacked. Brunswick police received notification of a fight in progress around 6 p.m.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Brunswick Detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi at 207-725-6670 ext.162.
