PORTLAND — No injuries were reported in an early morning fire Tuesday that displaced seven residents at 732 Forest Ave., near Woodfords Corner.

Assistant Fire Chief Keith Gautreau said the alarm was received at 1:23 a.m. and firefighters discovered “heavy” fire in the rear of building on the second floor when they arrived.

All the occupants were outside the three-story, six-unit building when firefighters arrived, and Gautreau said some pets were also rescued. Firefighters remained on scene until about 8 a.m.

Gautreau said the cause of the fire has not been determined, and the investigation may take another day or two. He said overall the damage to the building was moderate.
