SCARBOROUGH — All sitting councilors and board members are seeking re-election in November.
There are four challengers for three Town Council seats. Barring write-ins, two School Board incumbents will be unopposed.
Candidates had until Wednesday, Sept. 3, to file nomination papers for seats on the Town Council, School Board and Sanitary District Board of Trustees.
Council Chairman Richard Sullivan, Councilor James Benedict, and Councilor Kate St. Clair all filed papers to be on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Seeking to unseat them are former Town Councilor Shawn Babine, former Scarborough Economic Development Corp. board member Roger Beeley, Canine Education Enforcement Committee member Liam Somers, and Peter Hayes, a member of Dog Owners of Greater Scarborough.
Former Councilor William Kennedy took out nomination papers, but did not return them.
School Board members Kelly Murphy and Chair Christine Massengill are unopposed for re-election.
Sanitary District Board of Trustees Chairman Jason Greenleaf, Clerk Charles Andreson, and member Rob McSorley are all seeking re-election.
They will be challenged by Old Neck Road resident Ronald Bonneau.
