CAPE ELIZABETH — Registration for the 12th annual TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10K filled in less than two hours after opening at noon on Sunday, March 15. Breaking last year’s record of 26 hours, registration for the elite road race closed at 1:45 p.m. after reaching this year’s capacity of 6,000 runners. The field was expanded by 500 runners from last year.
Due to high online traffic volume – registration occured only the Web – some runners trying to register weren’t able to complete their application before registration closed. Race organizers said they are reviewing calls and e-mails regarding those issues and are working on a plan to address them.
To find out if your registration went through, entrant’s names are posted on the race Web site, beach2beacon.org.
