CAPE ELIZABETH — It took only eight minutes to register 4,000 online entries Tuesday for this year’s TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K.
Cape Elizabeth residents were given 24 hours to fill 600 online slots on Monday, but it took only 51 minutes to reach that cap.
For those still looking to participate in the 14th road race, registration for one of 1,750 remaining bibs is available by lottery until midnight on Tuesday, March 22. The lottery winners will be drawn on March 23. Runners can sign up for the lottery at the race website, beach2beacon.org.
There is a $5 fee to enter the lottery. Runners who get into the race via the lottery will be notified by e-mail and their names will be posted on the race website on March 23.
Race beneficiaries, sponsors, elite athletes and runners who have participated in all 13 races can register online starting March 28.
