POWNAL — Three people are running for one open seat on the Board of Selectmen June 11.
John Rankins, Andy O’Brien and Mary-Angela Horne are seeking the three-year term. Selectman Shawn Bennett’s term ended this year and he decided not to seek re-election by the April 11 deadline to submit nomination papers.
Rankins is the town animal control officer, and O’Brien works for Yarmouth Public Works. Deputy Town Clerk Molly White did not have any information about Horne.
Elizabeth Munsen is uncontested in her bid for a seat on the Regional School Unit 5 Board of Directors, replacing incumbent Erica Giddinge, who did not file papers.
Incumbent Craig Vosmus is running for another three-year term on the Cemetery Commission.
Elections will take place at the Pownal Town Office, 429 Hallowell Road, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
