PORTLAND — Two Massachusetts men and a Portland woman were arrested after police on Tuesday allegedly found six pounds of marijuana, two bags of psychedelic mushrooms and $33,000 of cash in the woman’s apartment at 23 Noyes St., Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Wednesday.

Jessie Fredrickson, 31, of Portland, was issued a summons on a charge of aggravated trafficking of marijuana. Sean Bailey, 21, of Gardner, Mass., and Brandon Livingston, 20, of Templeton, Mass., both received summonses on charges of unlawful trafficking in marijuana.

Maine State Police began the investigation Tuesday evening after stopping a car on Interstate 295 in Scarborough and noticing that the two men inside smelled of marijuana, according to McCausland. In addition, $9,000 of cash was found.

Suspecting they were headed to Portland to buy drugs, police released the men, but followed them with the help of state and federal drug agents, McCausland said. After the car stopped at the apartment, a search warrant was issued.
