PORTLAND — After arresting three people Sunday in connection with a string of motor vehicle burglaries near Deering High School, police are looking for the owners of items that were recovered.

Joshua Walker, 37, was arrested at about 7:20 a.m. after police found him on Ludlow Street. Walker, who said he was homeless, was in possession of items identified as stolen from vehicles on Ludlow Street and Candlewick Terrace.

Further investigation took police to a room at Motel 6 at Riverside Street and Brighton Avenue, where they found Walker’s wife, 43-year-old Kristina Walker, and Jeremy Day, 33. Also in the room were clothing, portable GPS units, iPod music players and credit cards believed to be stolen, including items identified as taken from two vehicles on Edgeworth Street.

Kristina Walker and Day were both arrested on charges of burglary to a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of Schedule W drugs (cocaine).

Joshua Walker was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon (knife).

Anyone who is the victim of a motor vehicle burglary and has not reported it is urged to contact Portland police by phone or on the city’s website.
