PORTLAND — Two people were shot at a recording studio late Monday night in the city’s Old Port.

According to a release from the Portland Police Department, police were called to Da Block Studios at 371 Fore St. for a report of shots fired just before midnight.

Officers found two people had been shot. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, and police said their names are being withheld pending notification of their families.

Police have no descriptions of the suspects, who were last seen fleeing up Market Street toward Milk Street.

Several streets in the Old Port remained blocked off Tuesday morning.

The Portland Police Department is asking anyone that may have witnessed the shooting to contact the Portland Police Criminal Investigation Division at 874-8533 or emergency communications at 874-8575.
