A high-speed accident on Harpswell Neck Road Thursday evening, Aug. 25, left the driver hospitalized with serious injuries. Eric Finnerty, 26, of Milton, Mass., was operating the 2013 Nissan Versa at an excessive speed and was unable to negotiate a curve, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle left the road, struck a tree, and was totaled. Finnerty was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious leg injuries. His passenger, April Roseboro, 20, of Brunswick, was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with minor injuries. The sheriff’s office said Finnerty and Roseboro apparently were arguing when the crash occurred. Harpswell Neck Fire Department also responded to the call at 5:21 p.m.
