HARPSWELL — Benjamin A. Wallace Jr. has been named chief of the Orr’s and Bailey Islands Fire Department.

Wallace is also chief of Cundy’s Harbor Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and serves on the town’s Fire & Rescue committee. He replaces Chief Walter Johnson, who stepped down from the post for health reasons, according to the Harpswell Anchor.

Harpswell has three volunteer fire departments: Cundy’s Harbor Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Orr’s and Bailey Islands Fire Department, and Harpswell Neck Fire and Rescue.
